Allambie Heights was named after the aboriginal term Allambie meaning a peaceful place. It was divided and sold on 1918.
Originally, the settlers used the goat track to access the ocean beaches near the town of Manly. Around 1940’s to 1950’s, Allambie Heights was developed into a town and a new post office was opened on February 1961.
Streets in the suburb were named after several prominent political leaders and famous battles during the World War II like the Moresby Place, Kirra Road, Roosevelt Avenue, and Anzio Avenue.
