Frenchs Forest was once the haven of the Garigal Aboriginal Clan. The Guingai settled in the place before the Port Jackson’s First Fleet arrived in 1788.
Rock art, engravings, shelters, open campsites, middens, and scarred trees from the aboriginals are still preserved in the suburb until today.
Simeon Henry and James Pearce bought 200 acres of land in the area and later was acquired by James French and named it as the Rodborough.
French developed the neighboring town which he called the Forestville, which remained countryside notwithstanding its proximity to Sydney.
