History of Elanora Heights
Elanora Heights is an aboriginal name which means “home by the water” of “home by the sea”. The Heights refer to “Up High”.
Its name was derived literally from its location on the hill near a lagoon.
In 1929, Elanora Heights Estate was born. Along its existence was the birth of Elanora Heights suburb.
The Royal Sydney Golf Club bought a land in 1920 and opened the Elaora Country Club 1922.
Later in the 20th century, Elanora Heights was only referred to as Elanora but was revert on its original name afterwards.

Elanora is only a small suburb found next to Ki-ring-gai Chase National Park, and Garigal National Park.
Native wildlife like blue tongue lizards, bandicoots, and possums are also found in the suburb.
While the park is mainly a residential area, it also became popular for its stunning tourist spots. There are several small specialty shops and two golf courses namely the Monash and the Elanora Country Club.
